Who we are

Development Hub Initiative (DHI) is a non-governmental, non-political and not-for-Profit organization with cooperate identity whose aim is to contribute and increase the living standard of the less privilege through economic empowerment, public health intervention services as well as improvement of lives and livelihood of orphans, vulnerable children, women and youth to become self-reliance while living in a peaceful environment. Development Hub Initiative (DHI) is a registered member of several networks to mention but a few; a member of Centre for Effective Leadership and Development Alliance (CELDA), Civil Society Network on HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (CISHAN), Youth Network on HIV/AIDS, Population and Development Activities (NYNETHA), Association of Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Nigeria (AONN), National Council of Child Rights Advocates of Nigeria (NACCRAN), Benue State Child Protection Network (CPN) Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and National Planning Commission.

To equip next generation of leaders with skills, and tools which will enable them to realize their full potentials and bring sustainable change to their communities.
To advocate for and protect the right of children, youth and women
To strengthen the capacity of families to protect and care for Orphans and vulnerable children
To ensure access to clean water and improve environmental sanitation and hygiene behaviour through community driven projects.
To advocate for and educate on sexuality health education of Children and youth through community based education using Adolescent reproductive health (ARH) and STI’s/HIV and aids preventive strategy.
To enhance care and support for young people with special needs and their care givers to improve access to health, education, nutrition and shelter To enhance self employment and sustenance of the less privileged by through vocational training.
To promote improved agricultural production for the benefit of the Poor and vulnerable
To promote positive response to gender issues for the empowerment of women.
To maintaining human rights and dignity that ensures a society free of sexual harassment and other types of discrimination.
To duly and legally, establish means of raising funds from various sources either through donations, grants and other fund raising activities.
To collaborate with International, National and State Agencies and other sister organizations with respect to development activities in Nigeria
To advocate for, promote and support the equality for women and girls by integrating gender-based analyses, goals, strategies and measures into our planning, policies, programmes, communications, management and systems
To advocate for and promote democracy and good governance. To do anything that is incidental and acceptable to achieving the stated objectives.

Mandate

Development Hub Initiative (DHI) is an NGO with a multi-dimensional approaches to skilful and effective leadership development initiatives, health, education and moral values in the society; contributing significantly in increasing good health and well being of orphans & vulnerable children, young people and women, empowering widows, equipping the vulnerable with adequate skills, upholding core moral values and striving to make the world a better place for all.

DHI Structure

Organizational Chart

Development Hub Initiative (DHI) at the apex has a Board of Directors made up of 9 members who formulate and provide support on the implementation of the policies of the organization while the Executive Director is the head of programmes and is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the organisation. S/He is also the chief accounting officer of the organisation. For administrative convenience and ease of operations, the organisation is divided into the following units:
FINANCE UNIT: Takes charges of all financial transactions of the organization.
PROGRAMME UNIT: Manned by Program manager and is responsible for coordinating the entire programme activities of the organization.
ADMINISTRATIVE UNIT: This is manned by the Admin Manager who oversees all administrative programmes and activities of the organization with approval from the program manager.

• We have a total of 8 key staff with their role clarified and well defined.
• Development Hub initiative has a total of 54 Ad-hoc staff across Benue and Taraba States.
• DHI has operational organizational policies in place.
• We have strong, reliable and operational accountable and financial systems.
• We have a good working relationship with the government and community leaders/members.
